Seminar ‘Transformative learning’
On the 10th of May 2017 the research group SEED – ‘Socio-Économie, Environnement et Développement’ organised a seminar on transformative learning in the context of sustainability issues. SEED is part of the Environmental Sciences and Management Department of the University of Liège, located at the campus Arlon and is conducting interesting work in the domains of research, education as well as citizen science.
During the seminar, Katrien Van Poeck reflected on the notion of ‘transformative learning’ and argued for further theoretical and empirical underpinning of the concept. She explained how CDO and the SEDwise network aim to contribute to this with a focus on sustainability in higher education and experiential learning in/through urban sustainability transitions.
