Seminar: Environmental and Sustainability Education in the Benelux Countries

Katrien Van Poeck (Ghent University), Arjen Wals (Wageningen University & Gothenburg University) and Ariane König (University of Luxembourg) edited a Special Issue on Environmental and Sustainability Education (ESE) in the Benelux countries for the journal ‘Environmental Education Research’. The collection assembles topical research from Belgium, The Netherlands and Luxembourg and gives an overview of traditions and recent developments in ESE research, policy and practice in this specific regional context. All the same, it addresses a more general topic: the relation between education and societal transformation in the face of sustainability challenges. During a seminar in Brussels on 22 November 2018 a variety of research contributions to this Special Issue were presented and discussed with policymakers, practitioners and researchers.
