Evelien Cronin focuses on European agricultural politics and policy, and in particular on the issue of how sustainability and innovation in agriculture can go hand in hand. Her research aims to understand how actors with different visions innovate together in the current agricultural system and what role policy plays in this. This research is part of the Horizon 2020 project LIAISON, in which she was involved from ILVO. She carried out her PhD on exploring political mechanisms within 'Knowledge and Innovation co-production partnerships in European agri-food systems' at the Centre for Sustainable Development of Ghent University.

Evelien Cronin focust op Europese landbouwpolitiek en -beleid en in het bijzonder op het vraagstuk hoe duurzaamheid en innovatie in de landbouw samen kan gaan. Haar onderzoek is er op gericht te begrijpen hoe actroren met verschillende visies samen innoveren in het huidige landbouwsysteem en welke rol beleid daarin speelt. Dit onderzoek kadert binnen het Horizon 2020 project LIAISON, waarin ze betrokken was vanuit het ILVO. Haar doctoraat rond het verkennen van politieke mechanismen binnen 'Knowledge and Innovation co-production partnerships in European agri-food systems' voerde ze uit in de schoot van het Centrum voor Duurzame Ontwikkeling van de UGent.
